Built as an Automated Market Maker (AMM), Bancor provides liquidity to exchanges by allowing Liquidity Pool (LP) Stakeholders to earn crypto for transactions made on the network.

Unlike other blockchains with similar features, Bancor is unique for its specialization in the Ethereum and EOS Networks. The BNT Token is the native cryptocurrency for the Bancor Network, and transactions made through its platform are converted to BNT.

History of Bancor Crypto

The Bancor Network was created by brother and sister Guy Benartzi and Galia Benartzi in 2017. Additional contributions to the Bancor Whitepaper were made by Eyal Herzog. The project was also financially backed by Investor Tim Draper.

The first round of investments for Bancor began in 2017. The public launch was in July of 2017, preceding the 2017-2018 Crypto Boom that led Bancor to its All-Time High in January of 2018.

Bancor had a network upgrade in 2020 named “V2” which created additional incentives for users to stake and lock up BNT, further securing the network.
