Fantom (FTM) Cryptocurrency
Fantom (FTM) is a decentralized blockchain network built with a unique consensus mechanism called Lachesis that was built from scratch by the founding team. Similar to Ethereum, the network was designed to facilitate smart contracts.
The Lachesis protocol is built for a 2-Second transaction settlement speed and increased security measures through its Opera Mainnet deployment. As a blockchain, Fantom is a foundation for users to build their own cryptocurrencies and launch tokens on the FTM network.
Upon launch of the FTM Token, 31% of the total supply of FTM was locked to be distributed as staking rewards for users that stake the token to secure the network.
