Ravencoin (RVN) Cryptocurrency
Ravencoin is a Bitcoin-based network that was created by generating a fork on the Bitcoin blockchain. In this “fork” Ravencoin copied the same structure as Bitcoin, but made some adjustments to the mathematics of the crypto.
Some key differences include total supply, where Ravencoin maxes out at 21 Billion tokens and BTC at only 21 Million. The block time, or processing time, is much quicker for Ravencoin, with a 1 minute block time as opposed to Bitcoins 10 minute timeframe.
Ravencoin uses a Proof-of-Work protocol, but has a reward of 5,000 RVN for each block mined. Like Bitcoin, ASIC miners are the best tools for data mining the RVN Token.
Key Points of Ravencoin
- Raven is a fork of Bitcoin, but with upgraded protocols and network
- Uses a unique Proof-of-Work protocol, labeled KAWPAW
- Very similar to Bitcoin, but with additional features to the network

History of Ravencoin
Ravencoin was created by Technology Entrepreneurs Tron Black and Bruce Fenton in 2018. Built using the same code as Bitcoin, it was intended to be launched in a similar way as Bitcoin, with no ICO (Initial Coin Offering) public or private sale.
With no insider stake, the development team gained their stake by using data miners to support the network at launch. The original team was funded by Overstock subsidiary Medici Ventures.
