History of Tron Crypto
The Tron Foundation began in Singapore as early as 2017 and was led by Asian Tech Entrepreneur Justin Sun (Sun Yuchen). Created amidst the 2017 Crypto Bubble, Tron sought to launch initially as an ERC-20 Ethereum token in late 2017. Tron established its own independent protocol and conversion of the TRX token in 2018 and made adjustments to its whitepaper.
The project is still spearheaded by Tech Entrepreneur Justin Sun, with a suite of recent projects on the Tron chain including NFTs, DeFi Platforms, and BitTorrent Integration.

Tron Acquires BitTorrent And Creates New Crypto: BTT
In 2018, the Tron Foundation purchased the entirety of BitTorrent, a popular torrenting software for online file sharing. The team at Tron launched the BTT Token as a cryptocurrency on the newly established blockchain network.
